If you’ve listened to any of my podcasts or guest episodes – you know how much I love my pet cats, Annie and Leia. (Hey, Star Wars fans!) and because of this, and a recent new discovery that I’ve made, coupled with a discussion I had with a friend about the way we feed our animals as opposed to humans, I’m going to deviate from my normal recipes with this post just a bit.
One of my favorite all time activities is feeding the people that I love. Whether it be family, a friend, a co-worker, a neighbor – you name it. It’s one of the reasons that I decided to go to culinary school. It’s gratifying. As humans on this planet, sometimes we forget just how important nutrition is, but what we also forget is that animals need just as much nutrition and that sort of love like we do.
With Leia and Annie, it was love at first sight. Our neighbor’s cat had a litter and the more I went over to play with them (because who can resist a litter of kittens, I mean c’mon) the more I knew I wanted to take one home. And at the time, I really did only mean one. However, while I had my eye on Leia, who we picked out and named immediately (she was the cute little dark colored cat while most of her brothers and sisters were a still equally adorable orange)there was also another cat that caught my eye. We ended up naming her Annie. Annie was the tiniest of the group and was not actually part of the litter, although with her size and age, you wouldn’t have known any different. A neighbor had found Annie hiding under their front steps and had introduced her into the litter since their mother was already nursing. Annie and Leia were inseparable from the get-go, and I knew I couldn’t separate them. The love and playfulness that they had, just as kittens, was, in a cute and cuddly fashion, inspiring. There was no way we couldn’t take both home.
One of the hardest parts about having a pet is that you want to feed them well and you want them to like it. Leia and Annie have a little bit different tastes in food, as I’ve found out by multiple trial and errors, so finding something that both liked equally as much was important to me. Leia is an adventurous eater but she also knows what she likes and as a Pet Mom, her nutrition is important to me. One of my recent pet food finds has changed the game when it comes to caring for my fur-babies.
The first thing that brought my attention to the 9Lives Protein Plus brand was their mascot Morris. I was at Walmart shopping for a new food selection for my kitty-cats and my eyes fell upon Morris and immediately made me pick up a can. Just looking at his picture on the product, he seemed like he had strikingly similar personality traits as my little loved ones. Leia is sassy but not snarky, Annie is full of energy and fun, and neither are ever boring. That’s for sure.
For all cat lovers out there, 9Lives Protein Plus is the best dietary choice that I’ve made for my cat. It’s packed with 33 grams of high quality protein (per 100 grams of food) which helps to support lean muscles and energy (although sometimes I swear this little one doesn’t need any more energy.) There are also a ton of antioxidants for healthy immune support.
Leia and Annie love it. They have wonderful flavors like Chicken and Tuna so I can mix it up and never make it boring. The best part? It’s easy for me to pick up on my way home from work because Walmart is down the street. They’re always well stocked with 9Lives Protein Plus which I’ve noticed has become increasingly popular.
I’ve also got good news for you if you’re interested in checking out this wonderful little brand for your fur-baby: You can use this 9Lives Offer
Ibotta offer and earn $1.00 from purchasing 9Lives Protein Plus at Walmart.
Trust me – it’s a great deal and why I recommend purchasing from Walmart.
If your cat isn’t already a snuggly little guy that likes to cuddle you and thank you for your love and attention, if you feed him 9Lives Protein Plus – he certainly will.
Try it out for your cat and let me know in the comments what you think! Just like our human loved ones, our animals deserve love, respect and quality nutrition. 9lives protein plus delivers all of that.
